Multi award winning DJ Krafty Kuts, started 2011 with an audible bang. Collecting THREE Breakspoll awards (including Outstanding Contribution) has only further cemented his legendary reputation in the global DJ scene. Now with his schedule firmly packed out until next year, things are only going to get crazier for one of dance music’s most in-demand and highly revered artists.
Effortlessly maintaining hierarchy status in every genre across the breaks, electro, dubstep, drum & bass and hip hop spectrums, Krafty’s music represents mash-up in its truest form. His high octane sets never fail to boost his fanbase and his regular teaming with Dynamite MC and obsession with only the biggest new tracks and remixes keep his show fresh and exciting with every minute that passes.
His ability to rock even the most diverse crowd will see him hit every major global festival throughout 2011, and with a Canadian and Asian tour completed and more mapped out in Australia, New Zealand and North America it’s clear to see this is set to end as one of his biggest years yet. For anyone a little closer to home, keep your eyes peeled for upcoming ‘A Night With Krafty Kuts’ events and a university tour plus his second iPhone app which is currently under construction.
His recently launched label, Instant Vibes, will be the link between the studio and his fan’s sticky palms, with first offering ‘Shake Them Hips’ and second track ‘Lets Ride’ featuring Sporty-O out to riotous applause. With his third studio album also nearing completion, some high profile remixes in the pipeline and some seriously hot new talent on the books, Instant Vibes is fast proving itself as the label to watch in coming months.
Those who know this highly skilled DJ will agree that his incredibly warm nature and passion for the scene sets him apart time after time. This, coupled with an unfaltering ability to deliver the finest, most eclectic and endlessly inspiring beats to his fans, will ensure Krafty continues to sweep the board and inspire a global scene for 2011 and beyond.

Strangely enough for an artist named Ed Solo, this prolific producer used to be best known for his collaborations with other artists. Deekline, Krafty Kuts, Skool of Thought, drum 'n' bass legend Brockie - all have benefited from getting Ed alongside them in the studio. The east London lad who grew up listening to pirate radios and cut his teeth as a production assistant at the famous Sour studios really is a Jedi master of sonic science: drop the needle on an Ed Solo record and you'll soon know about it - no one makes club music that cuts through a soundsystem quite like him.
And yet that moniker also - rightly - suggests a confidence in his ability to go out on his own, and Ed is an iconic artist on each of the drum 'n' bass, breaks and dubstep scenes. In the latter field, he's recently been creating a firestorm with Sludge Records, the label he co-runs with Deekline (the pair also run booty breaks imprint Hot Cakes together).
Tracks such as Age of Dub and Atlantis have introduced younger clubbers to classic dance music sounds, throwing them through a skanked out half-time prism and bringing them back to the floor in full effect. They've also picked up support from iconic figures such as Kissy Sellout and Skream - this is a producer right at the heart of the zeitgeist.
In the club, Ed is at the centre of one of the most innovative revolutionary shows of modern times, the Battlejam events run with production partner and UK DMC Champ JFB and UK beatbox champ Beardyman. Working together, the trio cut, scratch and loop up live audio recordings - some made by members of the crowd only seconds before - to create an entirely new, interactive, real-time experience.
Having just returned from a spectacularly successful tour of Canada, Ed is ready to take things to the next level. Hold tight for some serious dancefloor mayhem in your area.
