SoundLab 1 Year — Thank You
It has been a year since FIVESIXTY opened its doors to our inaugural SoundLab Saturdays, which featured the undeniable talent of the Stanton Warriors: because as you know, no one does breaks quite like Twisted.
In just one year SoundLab has hosted a slew of top tier DJs, including Markus Schulz, Paul Oakenfold, and Headhunterz. We want to thank our loyal, open-minded patrons who have frequented SoundLab’s diverse lineups on a regular basis; we at Twisted greatly appreciate it. Through your support and votes, SoundLab was crowned Vancouver’s Best Electronic Night at this year’s Vancouver Nightlife Awards – to make such strides in a single year is incredible.
With an unbiased ear for quality dance music we have put together a celebratory November schedule for returning partygoers and newcomers alike. November 2nd marks the return of the Stanton Warriors — and with them comes the stuttering groove of the world’s best live breakbeat mixing. This specific SoundLab is very near to our hearts as it officially marks a full year of SoundLab success and the chance to come full circle from where we began.
Not ones to be caged by genre restrictions, we also have one of the world’s leading hardstyle acts playing the following Saturday: Technoboy. As November continues, SoundLab Live will then pay tribute the beautiful vocal styling of Emma Hewitt as she permeates Ben Gold’s mixing with raw authenticity.
During the past year we were also given the opportunity to nurture two different sub-brands: “SoundLab Live” and “Cirque”. SoundLab Live has hosted the incomparable energy of many other artists including an utterly unique Infected Mushroom concert, and the silky vocals of Nadia Ali. However, we couldn’t simply stop at bringing you top-shelf music, especially when live circus performers only add to an event’s mystique and allure. This past Halloween weekend marked our sixth Cirque event (Cirque Noir) with an energy-filled night of great music, aerialists, stilt walkers, and metal grinders.
Yet, without the overwhelming support of you, our Twisted family, none of this would have been possible. I thank you, as does the rest of the Twisted & FIVESIXTY team. We promise to continue growing the SoundLab brand by making Saturday nights synonymous with impeccable service, a top tier club, and diverse and artistically talented array of acts.
